Tyburn, 1625. A young woman hanged as a witch. A doctor plagued by nightmares.
Wracked by guilt, Robert Winter struggles with the notion that a witch may have been wrongly accused. But if that is so, what can he do about it?
When strange things begin to happen, Winter’s understanding of good and evil are put to the test. Compelled to choose one or the other, he soon learns that taking sides is the least of his problems…
In this horror series set in London, the novella Black Witch Moon is book #1 in the Black Witch Saga.
When one of his patients is hanged after being accused of being a witch, Robert Winter starts feeling guilty. Was she wrongly accused? The nightmares start for him and with Lizzie seemingly reappearing, Robert is sucked into her quest for revenge. But what is real and what is just superstition…..?
`This is a fab little novella with plenty of elements of intrigue, mystery, suspense and horror. One of the particular areas of history that interests me is around witch hunts and accusations which made this all the more enjoyable. The plot was fab, kept me guessing and kept me turning the pages to see where the conclusion would take us.
The characters and setting were fantastic. Colin has a brilliant skill at bringing the 17th century to life, not only with the descriptions of the places but with the narrative of the characters. It made it feel really authentic and will easily transport you back in time. The writing style really drew me in and I’m looking forward to reading more in the series in the future.
So if you’re looking for a new short horror series, with some brilliant writing, plenty of history and an intriguing plot then check this out…..
