I’m delighted to be taking part in the blog blitz for Moonlight on the Thames by Lauren Westwood – A heartwarming tale proving true love can be found for even the most broken people.
Worlds collide when two strangers meet at Waterloo station. It’s a moment they’ll never forget. Perfect for the fans of Milly Johnson.
Christmas is a joyous time, but not everyone is merry and bright.
Nicola is a rising star at the top of the corporate ladder, but her personal life is a disaster. Her office affair has lost its allure, and the last thing she wants to think about is Christmas. A night of cancelled trains and festive Christmas carols at Waterloo Station is just about the last straw…
Dmitri loves conducting his pop-up choir during the festive season, meeting people, and spreading joy and cheer around London. But he carries deep secrets from his past that robbed him of his dream to become a concert pianist.
Can their hearts and souls be unlocked by music and moonlight and will they discover the healing power of love?
Yet again, I’m in love with this Christmas read! They’re most definitely my weakness!
Moonlight on the Thames introduces us to Nicola, an independent, strong woman who has gone through life using men but has never experienced a proper relationship because of a traumatic experience in the past; And Dmitri, an absolutely lovely Russian man who has had his heart thoroughly broken and has also had a terrifying and sad experience.
Nicola comes across as the ‘ice-queen’ she is described as, but as you get to know her and what she’s been through, it’s really easy to warm to her and I just wanted to be her friend and give her a massive hug by the end. Dmitri is lovely from the start and it’s so sad and shocking to learn about what has happened to him in the past; you’d never guess it from how caring and supportive he is of others.
They meet one night, not under the best circumstances but is there something there? And will they be able to heal each other and have the lives they deserve?
I honestly loved learning about the characters, their families, pasts and terrifying experiences and really went along on a rollercoaster with them…..willing them along at each step to get together! I read this in two sittings because I just wanted to know what the ending was for them both! Watching them chase their dreams, is captivating and you just want to cheer them on and support them.
Westwood is fantastic at making you feel like you’re there with them, experiencing the sites and sounds of London in December (which if you’ve been, you’ll know can be magical).
This is a great festive, heartfelt read and I’d truly recommend reading it! I absolutely loved the ending!
