Morning everyone and happy hump day again! Today I’m thrilled to be on the blog tour for I Love You Too Daddy by Shervin Jamali, a short but emotional fictional memoir….
book blurb & Info
A young man hears a voice, compelling him to write the story of his life.
About a father, and brother, he adores. And perhaps a mother, who got lost in the shuffle. But there’s so much more. The voice convinces him others might benefit from his tale. That they too could overcome loss as a result.
So Jason writes his emotional journey.
Available from: 14th July 2020 (ebook)
This short but moving story follows the life of Jason, from a baby to an adult. I don’t want to give away the story so all I will say is that he suffers from a lot of loss throughout his life. But as well as the sadness that he experiences, there is also a lot of love. His bond with his Dad and Brother is immeasurable, something that he also has with his children later in life. His experiences certainly shape him. But there are also a few surprises in this; I did guess them quite early on, but what they do add is a sense of hope.
Jason is very relatable as a character, and it does feel like you’re reading someone’s diary of their life, albeit a shortened version. I honestly felt for him as he has been through so much and I just constantly wanted things to get better for him. I loved his Dad, and as a Daddy’s girl myself, their relationship was really relatable (although not all of it, and you’ll understand when you read it!). I did feel sorry for his poor Mum at times – a strong and resilient woman who is definitely under-estimated.
I Love You Too Daddy is a short and emotional read that you’ll be able to curl up with for a couple of hours. Easy to read and follow, just be prepared for the emotion! I nearly cried numerous times throughout this! If you’re looking for a short, easy and emotional read then this could be for you!
about the author
Shervin Jamali has been writing for as long as he can remember as he had so many stories “locked away” but it wasn’t until he completed the first draft of ‘The Devil’s Lieutenant’ (2016) that he decided to turn his writings into books. His books are the perfect outlet for his daytime job as an IT consultant and he looks forward to the day he will be a full-time writer
After having lived in sunny Florida, Shervin Jamali now resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. In his spare time, Shervin likes to put together jigsaw puzzles whilst contemplating plots for his next book.
