Good morning everyone – I hope you have some lovely (social distancing!) plans in place for this beautiful Sunday! Today I’ve got a different review for you! I’m delighted to be one of the closing stops on the blog tour for Percolate by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino – a non-fiction, self-empowerment book about how to let your best self shine through……
Do you have a voice inside you saying that you want something different? Do you feel like you’re searching for something better, even if you don’t know exactly what it is? When you hear words like consciousness, purpose, light and awaken, do you wonder how they apply to your life? If you answered yes to any of these questions, have no fear – this book is here to help! It provides simple, clear and understandable thoughts for a growing consciousness, even in a time when people are questioning everything from guiding principles to social structures.
In our fast-paced world, Percolate stands as a metaphor for how to move forward with growing awareness:
To wake up to what is possible without losing sight of the simple and practical things that already exist
To let your heart and mind brew powerful ideas, and your spirit float to the top like foam
To live your best life and thrive
Most importantly, to never give up
Grab a cup of joe, put your feet up, allow the steam to rise, and let your heart’s desire surface. Ah, can you taste the magic as you bring the authentic best you to the world?

I love a self help/self-empowerment book and I love books by Hay House so I was excited to read this! Percolate is an inspiring, fun, quick and enjoyable read that will help you think through some of the questions you might have running through your mind. Elizabeth brings things to life by giving real life examples in the chapters, so you can see how making small changes can really help you to be more positive and be the best ever you.
The real life stories she shares with us are moving, and as she explains how she or her friends, approached the situations, it will inspire and motivate you to make transformational changes in your own life. Through tough times, Elizabeth and her family have remained positive and come out the other side of many challenges.
Throughout the book there are ‘coffee breaks’ with Dr. Katie Eastman where additional tools are offered to help us make lasting changing, and I really enjoyed these little breaks. The book encourages us to start by make small changes, and only choosing one at a time to make sure they stick and truly help to transform our lives. You will find lots of questions throughout to help you reflect on your current life and situations to help identify where you might want to make a change to be the best ever you.
Written with humour, in one of the chapters Elizabeth encourages us to laugh at ourselves, and reflect on how often we actually do this. She reminds us that we shouldn’t always take life too seriously, and should think back to how we approached life when we were kids. The chapters are short and easy to read, making this a book one that you can dip in and out of when you need some inspiration.
For someone that loves a self-help book, many of the aspects in here are familiar to me and are things that I practice daily anyway – e.g. gratitude; but there are some fabulous little nuggets in here too. I’m glad this little gem has been added to my virtual bookshelf and will be one I refer back to when I want to reflect and make changes. If you’re not sure where you want to go, or just want to be the best version of yourself, this is a fantastic book to start with which will inspire and motivate you, whilst making you laugh along the way!
