Happy Saturday!! Today I’m delighted to be on the blog tour for Sealed With a Death by James Silvester….a fast-paced spy/political thriller.

the blurb

Still new to the top secret Overlappers intelligence team, and on her first `hit’ alone, Lucie Musilova has an attack of conscience and nearly botches the operation, taking a bullet wound before finishing off her target. Though her injuries are minor, she is chastised for her carelessness and assigned desk duties. Here she investigates a number of disappearances of European women from Britain – the women all missing without trace until the body of one is discovered, raped and murdered. Lucie learns that tens of women have disappeared, all with little investigation. As she digs deeper she begins to uncover a terrifying international conspiracy that potentially threatens not just her life, but to topple Governments….

my review

Lucie, a spy for the Overlappers, is out of a mission alone but messes up….whilst also getting herself shot!  Having recovered she receives a considerable telling off and is removed from the case; instead told to investigate the disappearances of a number of successful European women…because the police don’t have the ‘resource’.

Lucie speaks to DI Ismail who made the link to the missing women, but was told to shut the case down, to find out what he knows.  But, by answering her questions, he puts his own job at risk and is suspended.  However he ends up working with Lucie and what they unravel is far more than just a few disappearances……

With links to the government and cover ups, can Lucie find the women? And can she uncover the rich and powerful who are involved?

This was fast-paced and definitely had me on the edge of my seat! Sealed With A Death is Book 2 in the Lucie Musilova series – I haven’t read Book 1 and didn’t need to for this story.  Although it’s definitely made me want to go back and read it!

Lucie is an amazing and strong woman, a European in the UK which is preparing for Brexit  – fighting for what she believes in.  She brings out all your emotions as you go on the journey with her – sorrow, anger, hope, disappointment and surprise!  She seems to always have a trick up her sleeve and pulls off some amazing thing to get the information she needs.  She also goes through some terrible things to save others……

I loved Kasper and Asif too – both brilliant characters although I just wanted to give Asif a big hug in the end!

There are numerous conspiracy type theories throughout about the government and corruption – which unsurprisingly is covered up and it definitely makes you think!

The story was great and really engaging.  Because it is so fast paced I did struggle to keep up at a few points but ultimately really enjoyed this! I’ll definitely be reading Book 1 at some point and am looking forward to Book 3!!
