Happy Tuesday lovelies! Today I’m on the blog tour for The Detective, The Woman and the Pirate’s Bounty by Amy Thomas…..A novel of Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler retrace the steps of pirates as they uncover a conspiracy at the heart of Florida’s islands. Death threats and gangsters are not enough to stop the pair as they meet new friends and enemies while seeking pirate treasure and preserving law and order.
Amy Thomas is one of the Baker Street Babes, the world’s most popular Sherlock Holmes podcast. The Detective, The Woman and The Pirate’s Bounty is Amy’s fourth Holmes and Adler novel – The Detective and The Woman, and The Detective and The Woman and the Winking Tree, and The Detective and The Woman and The Silent Hive have sold worldwide with wonderful reviews with the first book available in audio format as well.
It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything to do with Sherlock Holmes and I really enjoyed it. Since watching the films, I can just imagine Jude Law as Holmes and actually this story fitted his portrayal of the character brilliantly!
The story takes us on a trip to Florida with Holmes and his associate Irene as they head to an island to discover whether there really is pirate treasure. Along the way they meet Jones, who becomes an important part of their journey – a new associate for them both. We also have the usual things going wrong for Holmes, with villains trying to get in the way and foil their plans! Will they find the treasure? And will they be able to stop the villains?
Thomas portrays this iconic character and his mannerisms brilliantly. The story was so good and is written in such a way that enables you to picture it happening; as if watching a film. I’d most definitely like to read more from this author in the future.
