Sofia Marino is focused on one thing, finding the ideal job…
When she lands the opportunity to work for Peter Williams at Sublime Retreats, it’s a dream come true and the last thing on her mind is romance.
Then an unfortunate accident means she has to go to Florence with the cold and standoffish Adam Flynn, and she knows she will have to put up with him for two whole weeks. Determined to prove her worth to the company, she throws herself into making the trip successful and dragging Adam out of his shell.
As the sparks begin to fly and Florence seduces them both, will Adam let his guard drop despite his father’s concerns about Sofia’s family ties and can she finally find a man that her brothers will approve of?
Sophia is determined to get a job outside of the family business and is over the moon when she gets a job as a PA to the boss of Sublime Retreats. She loves the job and her boss, and is even more thrilled when she’s told she is off on a 2 week business trip to Florence…..the only downside is that she has to go with Adam. Adam is gorgeous but blows hot and cold with her so often. What she doesn’t know is that his Dad used to be in the Police and thinks he knows things about her family……But is his Dad right? As sparks fly, Adam tries to fight the inevitable. But will they end up together? And will they have a happy ending?
I loved the last book in the Sublime Retreats series so couldn’t wait to read this and I wasn’t disappointed. Yet again Joy has bought us brilliant characters, gorgeous settings, a heart warming and funny storylines and lots of delicious foods to make you hungry!
Sophia is a fantastic character. Young, determined, strong and resilient. I wasn’t sure about Adam at first because of his behaviour, but despite the fact that he acts terribly throughout at times, you’ll just want Sophia to be happy. His Dad made me laugh and Sophia’s family were fantastic.
Having always wanted to travel to Italy, this book has now got me adding Florence to my Wishlist. Joy does a wonderful job of bringing the surroundings to life, as well as all the gorgeous food that they make and eat! I honestly just wanted a massive plate of pasta at the end of this.
The storyline was wonderful, another will they/won’t there. It really revolves around love, family and food and I loved every second of it.
So if you’re looking for a fabulous, funny and heartwarming romance full of beautiful settings, wonderful characters and yummy food then you should check this out!
about the author
Joy lives on the seductive island of Corfu with her four dogs and an embarrassing number of cats.
Her many years working in the tourist industry on this sunny isle and her love of all things literary inspired her first novel Corfu Capers which recently hit the #1 spot in Parenting and Family humour much to her delight.
She loves to cook, dance and drink wine, usually at the same time, and is currently working on book number four, due to be released later this year.
She also loves to travel, absolutely anywhere, and is looking forward to jumping on a plane!
