My second post of the day is a fab Meet the Author interview with Ruchira Khanna. We’re talking about reiki, that first cup of tea, hope and her most recent book, Through His Eyes: A Short Story

Tell us a bit about yourself:
A Biochemist turned writer who gathers inspiration from the society where she writes about issues that stalk the mind of the man via tales of fiction. She projects the mental growth of her characters thus, making her readers tag her work as, “Books that make you ponder!”
She blogs at Abracabadra which has been featured as “Top Blog” for three years. Many of her write-ups have been published on LifeHack, HubPages to name a few.
What inspired you to start writing and where do you get your ideas?
My toddler needed story time especially when I had to feed him his porridge or mashed vegetables. That’s when I got to explore my creative side.
Although my son is a teen now, so I continue to gather inspiration from the society. Since then, there has been no turning back.
How many books have you written and published?
I have written 8 novellas/novels and have them published on Amazon worldwide.
How long does it take you to write a book?
It depends on the topic. My book, RSVP: A Novel I was exploring fantasy genre and had to research before plotting so took me about three months to finish. While, Breathing Two Worlds was a novel closer to my heart so could finish it in one month’s time.
Which book, out of all the books you have written, is your favourite and why?
Each of them has my sweat and I’ve lost significant hours of my sleep over it. In short, all are my babies. Now, how can I play the favouritism game on any of them
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
A Nun, A Politician, A Researcher.
In short, all I wanted was to serve. Thus, the above!
Other than writing, what else do you enjoy doing?
I am Energy Healer during the day. That is one profession that I enjoy thoroughly. Speaking to the Universe while sending out healing vibes!

A Grounded Person
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Be able to heal all emotionally and mentally.
What is something you can’t live without?
My first only cup of tea in the morning. Can be very groggy without it.
What is your favourite word and why?
This noun can bring longing for anything and everything that a person desires!
And finally, tell us about your most recent book and where we can find it?
This is a short story but will give a warm fuzzy feeling when you finish reading it.

Thanks so much for this interview Ruchira. It’s lovely to learn more about you. Choosing between your books is always a difficult one – sometimes it’s best to leave them all equal as you would with children! I’m really intrigued by Reiki – it’s something I’ve looked at a few times so I’ll be checking out your website for sure! And I completely agree with you – that first cup of tea is CRITICAL! I couldn’t be without it either!!
