An uplifting new Christmas novel from the Sunday Times bestseller
Elderly widow Sabine knows this will be her last Christmas in her beloved home, Mitras Castle. Determined to make it just like the ones she remembers from her childhood, she employs Dido Jones of Heavenly Houseparties to help with the big day.
Dido is enchanted by the castle as soon as she steps through the imposing front door. And as Christmas day approaches, her feeling of connection to the old house runs deeper than she first thought. But when the snow begins to fall and Sabine’s family arrive at the house – including Dido’s teenage crush Xan – tensions rise around the castle’s future and long-buried mysteries begin to unravel…
As past secrets come to light, can this still be a magical Christmas to remember?
Wow! What a read. I absolutely adored this fantastic, uplifting, cosy Christmas story. This literally gave me everything – fantastic characters, a brilliant storyline full of twists, an utterly gorgeous setting and obviously my favourite time of year! There is plenty of food to make you hungry, themes of friendship, love and reconciliation, and doses of tradition and mystery.
I loved all the of the characters, and especially loved Plum (obviously!). I just found myself invested in so many of them, leaving me completely and hopelessly sucked in by the story. It is definitely one of those ‘one more chapter’ books that you don’t want to put down and don’t ever want to end.
I’m a massive fan of Trisha’s writing and this didn’t disappoint. It is beautifully written and the descriptions are so vivid and wonderful, it will make you feel like you’re there. This fantastic story will lift you up and give you all the feels; perfect for snuggling up under a blanket with a hot chocolate and snacks to get you in the festive mood.
So if you’re on the lookout for your next festive read that you will absolutely love then you need to check this out. Highly recommended by me.
