Today I’m delighted to be on the blog tour for The Greenmen by Linden Forster….the second in The Hero’s Arc series.
Aereon has found the Creators.
He’s crossed seas and mountain ranges to reach them, tangled with dwarves and ogres along the way, escaped the clutches of an icicle-wielding irate yeti to rescue them and now they tell him that they weren’t in any great need of help.
A revolution has sparked in the realm of Hudikvar, because of something things Aereon might have said to a troop of homeless youths. Now, King Victarian is after Aereon and anyone associated with him.
Local woodsman, Lars, has agreed to help them flee and be their guide through Oak’s Wood, but even he cannot guess what lies in wait for them within. Not now the Lord of the Primes is about to wake.
‘He’s got a touch of destiny about him, that one,’ said the Dealer.
‘Aye. He’s got a date with her, I’d say,’ said the Trickster.
‘And she’s ordered the lobster,’ said the Teller.

I really enjoyed Book 1, Divine Invention so was looking forward to reading this…..and I wasn’t disappointed! As with Book 1, I’m not giving away any of the plot because I want you to journey with them! The way Linden writes really does allow you to bring the world and characters to life, a fantasy world but with aspects that you can really relate to real life.
I fell in love with Aereon in Divine Invention and was glad to be back with him to see what new adventures he would go on, and what new ‘creatures’ he (and us!) would meet. The supporting cast are brilliant, and I absolutely love Lars and the Dwarves too! Seeing them grow and develop throughout the book is wonderful, especially when you feel so invested in them! And I can’t forget the elves and tree souls…..meeting and learning about them was fantastic, and I really enjoyed this aspect.
Again, we have the subtle tongue-in-cheek humour, which include some of the chapter names which honestly does make you smile and have a little chuckle!
Overall, another great book by Linden with a great mix of fantasy and humour. Recommended by me, but I would definitely suggest reading Divine Invention first. You can find my review for Divine Invention here.
About the author
Linden Forster began writing at the age of seventeen. Divine Invention was his debut novel and it took seven years from the idea conjuring at the back of an English class to reaching the page.
Since then, writing has become his dream and passion. The Greenmen is the second in his fantasy series, The Hero’s Arc.
He is a lover of nature and enjoys walks in the country and often ventures out armed with a notepad and pen.
