Paige might bake wedding cakes for a living but that doesn’t mean she’s dreaming about her own perfect day. Far from it.

Trusting people is hard after she was badly let down by her family and boyfriend just when she needed them most. And to make things worse, her ex has just walked into her bakery with his new fiancée…

Needing a little no-strings-attached fun, Paige goes to a party where her friend knows just the guy – the guy in the black top.

There’s just one problem. There are two men wearing black tops.

Noah was meant to be her perfect distraction…instead, he wants more than just a bit of fun. But could the wrong guy turn out to be the right choice?

my thoughts

Paige is having a brilliant day at work and looking forward to meeting her new clients….until she realises the groom to be is her ex.  Even thought they haven’t been together for a few years, she can’t get him out of her head and realises she needs a distraction.  Heading off to her friend Mika’s party, Mika points her in the direction of the man in the black top for a no strings ‘distraction’. But then there are TWO men in black tops……she takes her chances…..

And not only are her and Noah completely attracted to each other, they get on so well.  She knows she’s made the wrong decision when she’s persuaded to stay for breakfast and things escalate from there and she knows she’s getting in too deep and its’ not what she planned.  But when she has a health scare, she really has to consider what she wants? Is it still no strings fun, or is Noah the right man after all?

I absolutely loved this and it made me laugh out loud so many times.  The story comes across as so real and the things Paige thought and said were so funny.  I warmed to her immediately and just wanted her to be happy.  Honestly – she’ll feel like your best friend and she’ll have you stitches!  Noah is also a fantastic character – another that I loved from the start and I just really really wanted them to get together.  There are also some fab supporting characters – Mika is fabulous, Bobbie is a force to be reckoned with and Sara is the friend we’d all want.

The storyline is fab.  Not only do we get laughs, cake, friendship, honesty and romance but it also touches on a health problem Paige has previously had and how she deals with it.  If you’re a baker you’ll love this too – I genuinely wanted to eat a lot of cake while I was reading this!

This is the perfect summer read to chill with in the garden or, if you’re lucky enough to go away, then by the pool or on the beach. It’s easy to read and enjoyable but just be prepared for the laugh out loud moments if you’re going to a public place!  So, if you’re looking for the next fun, heart warming, and brilliant read then you should definitely check this out.  Highly recommended by me.
