I’m over the moon to be on the tour for The Puppet Show by M. W. Craven – a fantastic debut novel and an absolute page turner!
Welcome to the Puppet Show . . .
A serial killer is burning people alive in the Lake District’s prehistoric stone circles. He leaves no clues and the police are helpless.
When his name is found carved into the charred remains of the third victim, disgraced detective Washington Poe is brought back from suspension and into an investigation he wants no part of.
Reluctantly partnered with the brilliant, but socially awkward, civilian analyst, Tilly Bradshaw, the mismatched pair uncover a trail that only he is meant to see. The elusive killer has a plan and for some reason Poe is part of it.
As the body count rises, Poe discovers he has far more invested in the case than he could have possibly imagined. And in a shocking finale that will shatter everything he’s ever believed about himself, Poe will learn that there are things far worse than being burned alive …
I absolutely love this book! Once I’d started I literally struggled to put it down…I had to force myself to go to sleep otherwise I would have stayed up reading into the night and would have been falling asleep at work the next day!
I absolutely love the characters – Poe and Tilly are the best partnership ever! Both are very misunderstood and have their own quirks, especially Tilly! She’s odd and very socially awkward, but I’d be friends with her any day! I really enjoyed watching their friendship develop and watching Tilly come out of her shell, and I adore how protective they are of each other.
The whole story is really well written and thought out, I loved the storyline and absolutely loved all the twists and turns along the way…..and the end…..!!! This is an absolute, definite must read!!
This is a fantastic debut novel and I will most certainly be looking out for more from him. I can’t wait to see what he brings us next!!
