about your life or mine
Alana Loxton was part of the all-female team to take down Barratt, a notorious serial killer.
He is safely behind bars when one of the detectives goes missing.
Her disappearance, and the connection to the killer, could be a coincidence – but when her body is discovered days later, a link begins to form. Then another detective from the team goes missing and the situation becomes horrifically clear.
Someone is picking them off one by one – and Alana’s name is next on the list . . .
This was a brilliant twisty thriller with plenty of psychological thriller aspects to it. I was hooked from the first few pages and honestly didn’t want to put it down.
The characters were brilliant, and I admired Loxton’s determination to solve the cases for her friends….and ultimately herself. I do love a strong female lead, and I was thrilled that the murder squad had been all female.
The fact that the author works for the Met really gave this novel an authentic feel. I don’t know much about working in the police but I felt like this gave me a bit of an inside sneak peak which was fab. At one point I felt like I was watching an episode of Criminal Minds!
The twists were fantastic – I was suspicious of a few different people at one point, but this certainly kept me on my toes! The writing was enjoyable and a delight to read, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this author.
So if you’re looking for an authentic feeling, twisty thriller that will keep you on your toes and suck you in, then you should check this out. Highly recommended by me.
